Our History:

Columbus Steel Erectors, Inc. was incorporated on May 5, 2001. It was formed with three partners, Shawn Runyon, Scott Runyon and Jim Mirgliotta. Each partner brings with him unique expertise and experience.

Shawn Runyon – President

Shawn has worked in all phases of the erection business for 26 years. Prior to starting CSE, he was with Runyon Erectors for 9 years. He’s been a project superintendent as well as an estimator and project manager. His most notable projects include Indiana’s Ball State University Basketball Arena, Nationwide Arena and Bank One Corporate Center in Columbus, and Circle Centre Mall and Artsgarden Project in Indianapolis. He now manages the corporate aspects of CSE as well as sales and estimating.

Scott Runyon – Vice President/Manager of Field Operations

Scott has worked in the steel industry for 34 years and also came with 8 years experience with Runyon Erectors as project superintendent. In addition, he has an impressive history of successful projects such as the Huntington Bank Tower and State Office Tower II in Columbus, Nutter Arena in Dayton, the Alamo Dome in San Antonio, and the Denver Airport in Denver, Colorado. He now oversees all field aspects of CSE projects ensuring our commitment to excellence.

James Mirgliotta – Financial Secretary

Jim and his wife Bette are owners of Forest City Erectors in Twinsburg, Ohio. Jim was one of the original founders of Precast Services in Columbus, which has become the premier company for precast installation in the entire country.
